/01THE PROBLEM

Most teams track leave across emails, a shared calendar and a spreadsheet only HR can access. That works until everyone books the same week off without others realizing it.

Requests lost in email

Nobody is sure what was approved, by whom, or how many days someone has left.

No view of who's out

Managers approve one request at a time, without seeing the rest of the team's week.

Expensive or outdated SaaS

Missing values needed custom completion rules, using similarity checks across multiple attributes so the analytical integrity of the figures held.

/02THE IMPACT

What changes the day the app goes live:
leave requests stop being a side process in inboxes, Teams or expensive SaaS and become data the whole company can access & plan with.

/03THE APP

One app for the whole leave process: ask, approve, plan around it and report on it.
Requests, balances and approvals are stored in your Fabric workspace, so leave can be reported on alongside the rest of your company’s data.

Team View
The page opens with the number of people out next week and the requests waiting for your decision. Below that is the team calendar, which you can show by week, two weeks or month. Annual and sick leave have their own colours, and a dashed outline marks a request that hasn’t been approved yet.

Requests
Every request you’ve sent, each with its dates and number of working days. You can see at a glance whether a request is approved or still waiting, and the colour tells you the leave type.

Holidays
The public holidays still to come this year in your country, as HR has entered them. When a request counts working days, these dates are left out.

Insights
HR’s overview of approved leave since 1 January. The cards at the top count who is away today, the pending requests, sick days and unused vacation, and they flag requests that have been waiting longer than three days. Below them, one chart shows leave by month and type and another shows which weekdays have the most sick days. A table compares days off across departments.

/04THE APPROACH

Leave rules differ by company and often by country, so the setup starts with your policy.

01

Write down your leave policy

We list your leave types, the allowance for each, how many days carry over into the next year and the public holidays for every country you employ people in.

02

Load your people

We pull your directory from Microsoft Entra ID (department, country, reporting line), your HR system, or a file you already keep.

Reporting lines

03

Set the approval rules

Managers decide on their own team’s requests, and HR can see and correct everything. These rules are enforced in the database, so nobody can approve their own leave.

04

Go live with one department

One department plans its leave in the app first. After we’ve adjusted leave types and wording to their feedback, the rest of the company joins, and HR takes over the directory and holidays.

/05THE RESULTS

Leave is planned where everyone can see it, and HR has the numbers without building a report.

Managers decide with the team in view

Each request shows the balance after approval and who else on the team is away on those dates.

Balances are always up to date

Employees see how many days they have left, with carry-over and their country’s public holidays already counted in.

HR reports without a spreadsheet

Insights shows leave taken by month, sick days by weekday and any request that has been waiting more than three days.
